Our Mission

At South Shore Social Spot, our mission is to provide meaningful social opportunities for children and adults with disabilities in a welcoming and inclusive environment. We believe that everyone deserves a space to connect, build friendships, and engage in enriching activities that foster personal growth, confidence, and joy.

What We Offer

We offer a variety of engaging and accessible programs designed to meet the diverse interests and needs of our community, including:


Afternoon Social Clubs– A creative space for painting, drawing, and hands-on projects that encourage self-expression.


Morning Play Groups – A space for little ones to explore, play, and socialize while parents and caregivers connect and build community.

Life Skills Classes – Classes designed to build independence with job readiness workshops, life skills training, social skills groups and more!

Special Events & Themed Parties – From seasonal celebrations and interactive themed activities, we create unique experiences that bring people together.

Our Location

Conveniently located in Norwell, MA, South Shore Social Spot is a welcoming community hub where individuals can laugh, learn, and grow in a supportive and fun atmosphere. Whether joining us for a single event or becoming a regular participant, you'll find a place where friendships flourish, and everyone belongs.

Our Founder

Meet Liz

Bringing over a decade of experience in special education, ABA therapy, and direct support roles, one thing has always stood out to Liz—everyone thrives when they have the opportunity to connect, have fun, and showcase their unique strengths. That’s exactly what South Shore Social Spot is all about!

Liz wants to create a space where individuals of all abilities can build friendships, explore new interests, and most importantly, have a great time in a supportive and inclusive environment. Whether it’s through games, activities, or making connections, her goal is to highlight what makes each person shine and to create experiences where everyone feels valued.

Outside of work, Liz is passionate about sustainability, loves gardening, paddleboarding and spending time with friends and family. She can’t wait to build an amazing community here at South Shore Social Spot!

At South Shore Social Spot, we’ve created a homey, welcoming space where there’s truly something for everyone. Our thoughtfully designed environment is built to support comfort, creativity, connection, and fun—making it a place where individuals of all abilities can thrive.

The Living Room

Welcome to a space full of friendly competition and connection! In the Game Play Zone, participants can enjoy a wide variety of board games, card games, and small group games. It’s the perfect place to work on turn-taking, teamwork, and social skills while having a great time and making new friends.

We offer visual instructions and staff support to guide gameplay, encourage interaction, and ensure every participant feels included. Modifications and accommodations are available to make each game accessible and fun for all.

Get creative in our Crafting Corner! Each session will include a structured, step-by-step craft project that participants can follow along with, as well as open-ended options like drawing, coloring, and free crafting for those who want to explore their own ideas.

We use visual schedules, sample projects, and hands-on staff support to ensure that everyone—regardless of ability—can participate meaningfully. Accommodations and adapted materials are available to make creativity accessible for all.

The Craft Corner

The Maker’s Space is where imagination meets hands-on learning! Build with Legos, race toy cars, create marble runs, construct train tracks, or design a one-of-a-kind fort. This area encourages open-ended exploration while incorporating STEM-based skills like problem-solving, planning, and spatial awareness.

All materials are organized for easy access, and our staff is available to assist with modifications, offer visual guides, and help foster collaboration and conversation among peers.

Maker’s Space

The Sensory Corner is a calming space designed to help participants relax, self-regulate, and recharge. This cozy area features a soft bean bag chair, yoga balls for gentle movement, dimmed lighting, and soothing wall visuals to create a peaceful environment.

A variety of sensory tools—like fidgets, kinetic sand, and calming visuals—are available to support individual sensory needs. Whether someone needs a quiet moment or just a little sensory input to feel more grounded, this space offers a safe and supportive spot to reset.

Sensory Corner

The Book Nook

Welcome to the cozy Book Nook—your spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy a great read! We have comfy, flexible seating options and our shelves are stocked with books for all reading levels! From picture books and early readers to chapter books and graphic novels, there’s something for everyone. We also offer fun options like seek-and-find books, game books, and learn-to-draw guides.

This space supports quiet moments, imagination, and self-paced learning.

Community Puzzle

Looking to challenge your brain and have some quiet fun? Our community puzzle is the perfect place to work together to complete jigsaw puzzles, with a wide variety of themes - new puzzles will put out as soon as one is completed!

This area supports focus, problem-solving, and fine motor skills in a calm and supportive environment.

Gross Motor Alley

Time to get moving! Our Gross Motor area offers a fun way to practice coordination and physical movement with games like Toss Across, bean bag activities, and obstacle course style setups.

This space is designed to encourage active play in a supportive environment, with adaptations and equipment choices to meet a range of needs. Our friendly staff help guide participants through each activity while supporting positive social interaction and sportsmanship.

Visual Supports

At South Shore Social Spot, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. Visual supports are always available—like step-by-step craft guides, visual building prompts in the Maker’s Space, calm-down tools, visual schedules, and icons to help members navigate the space independently.

Whether you're joining a favorite activity or trying something totally new, our supportive staff are always nearby to assist with transitions, offer encouragement, and support social interactions in a natural and respectful way.
